GTP® Recertification Credits – The GTP® Recertification Handbook provides exact number of credits volunteers can earn.
Here is a quick overview:

GBTA Membership – 1 Credit Per Year Regional Advisory Boards/Councils (CPC Board, Allied Leadership Council, Industry Advisory Council) – 5 Credits per year

Official GBTA Chapter - Board of Directors (appointed or elected) – 4 Credits per year

Standing GBTA Sanction Committees and/or Taskforce Members – 3 Credits per year

Testifying or Visiting Congress/State Government – 1 Credit per year

2026 GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter Member Scholarships:
GBTA Silicon Valley’s goal is to promote members’ growth and development through education and involvement. To support this initiative, GBTA Silicon Valley has developed a scholarship program for eligible travel professionals. Please read this carefully as the eligibility, rules and award criteria have changed for 2026.
If we receive many applications, scholarship for membership dues will be prioritized. All applications will be reviewed by the GBTA Silicon Valley Board of Directors.
Submission Due Date: Friday, February 6, 2026 at 5pm PT
Eligibility:
A current GBTA Silicon Valley member in good standing, who is employed in the corporate travel industry, or currently unemployed but seeking employment in the corporate travel industry.
Rules:
1. Awarded grants may be used for expenses incurred in the previous year or the current year while being an active member of GBTA Silicon Valley.
2. Grants may not be applied towards lodging or transportation expenses.
3. Receipts are required. Only the actual expense paid by the grant recipient will be reimbursed.
4. Grants can be only paid to the individual and not to the applicant’s employer.
5. Grants are awarded to the individual and are not transferable.
6. The receipt must be submitted before December 10, 2026 for reimbursement or grants will be forfeited.
7. The award recipient must attend/have attended a minimum of 3 monthly events
8. Be an active volunteer of the chapter's committee. (Allied/Suppliers only)
Award criteria:
1. Contributions to the GBTA Silicon Valley community
2. Clear objective and justification
3. Completeness of the application
4. Attendance record for the GBTA Silicon Valley meetings for the 12 months immediately preceding the application date (Allied/Suppliers only)
Scholarship award recipients will be notified no later than February 12th.

GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter Meetings Qualification for Recertification Credit:
Many of GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter's monthly speaker sessions and educational events will qualify for GBTA Academy GTP/CCTE recertification credits.
The Professional development Committee is submitting applications for each and will post below which events qualify. One Credit = 50 minutes of qualified education. Check back often!
