GTP® Recertification Credits – The GTP® Recertification Handbook provides exact number of credits volunteers can earn. Here is a quick overview:
GBTA Membership – 1 Credit Per YearRegional Advisory Boards/Councils (CPC Board, Allied Leadership Council, Industry Advisory Council) – 5 Credits per year
Official GBTA Chapter - Board of Directors (appointed or elected) – 4 Credits per year
Standing GBTA Sanction Committees and/or Taskforce Members – 3 Credits per year
Testifying or Visiting Congress/State Government – 1 Credit per year

GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter Member Scholarships: APPLICATIONS OPEN January 15-31, 2020

SVBTA scholarship grants may be used for membership, registration or course expenses incurred in the previous year or the current year. 

Grants may not be applied towards lodging or transportation expenses. Receipts are required. Only the actual expense paid by the grant recipient will be reimbursed.

The grants must be used within the calendar year awarded or will be forfeited. Grants are paid to the individual and not to the applicant’s employer.Grants are given to the individual and are not transferable.

The applicant can choose more than one of the following grants: 

  1. GBTA or SVBTA Membership – Up to $550
  2. GBTA Annual Convention Grant – Up to $1,200
  3. GBTA GLP Certificate 5 day-session or the GLP Designation Program – Up to $2,000
  4. GBTA GLP 2 day-course or GBTA Manager level course – Up to $1,000
  5. GBTA Fundamentals Level course – Up to $500
  6. GBTA GTP exam or re-certification fee – Up to $500
  7. GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter Monthly Meeting & Education Day Fees - Up to $500 (Available for buyer members only)

2019 GBTA Chapter Presidents' Council (CPC) Scholarship (Applications currently unavailable)

Each year, the Chapter Presidents’ Council grants scholarship awards to individual members of chapters or affiliates that are in the CPC. 

The GBTA Chapter Presidents’ Council (CPC) Scholarship Program serves to:

  • Help travel management professionals pursue education opportunities that enhance their expertise
  • Enourage local chapter/affiliate members to become a member of GBTA and/or attend GBTA sponsored conferences, conventions and seminars held nationally or locally

Who is Eligible:

Any Direct or Allied Member in good standing with their local chapter/affiliate.

The Fine Print:

  • One application per member may be submitted
  • Scholarship is valid for 1 year from date of award
  • A member can only win a scholarship once every 2 years
  • Scholarships cannot be used for any competitor events (i.e. ACTE)
  • Scholarships will be reimbursed once the educational event has been paid for. 

GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter Meetings Qualification for Recertification Credit -

Many of GBTA, Silicon Valley Chapter's monthly speaker sessions and educational events will qualify for GBTA Academy GTP/CCTE recertification credits. 

The Professional development Committee is submitting applications for each and will post below which events qualify.  One Credit = 50 minutes of qualified education.  Check back often!
