Registration closes at 5pm on the Monday before the event. We are unable to take a waiting list, however we will accept payment at the door for walk-ups at the event on an availability only basis, we regret we cannot verify additional capacity ahead of time.

Eric Bailey

Global Director Travel, VenueSource and Payment


As Global Director of Travel at Microsoft, Eric oversees the MSTravel, VenueSource and Payment teams managing $1B+ in travel and meetings spend.  Eric is responsible for developing and implementing Microsoft technology solutions to move employees across the globe while maximizing productivity.  He has written articles published across multiple travel forums discussing how to leverage Big Data and partner networks to fulfill these solutions.

Prior to Microsoft, Eric began his career in travel at American Express managing global reporting for Microsoft.  He graduated from Puget Sound University with a major in Economics and Asian Studies, continuing his education at University of Washington Michael G. Foster School of Business where he got his MBA. In 2015 Eric was honored among The Top 25 Influential Travel Executives and Travel Manager of the Year by BTN.



Juliann Pless

Senior Vice President, Travel Solutions

CSI Enterprises, Inc.

Juliann oversees the sales and operations of the company’s travel solution, CSI Travel. Juliann has successfully managed the team responsible for the growth of CSI Travel by establishing strategic partnerships, building brand awareness, and increasing customer engagement. She frequently shares her expertise in corporate travel payment solutions through national speaking engagements.

Prior to CSI, Juliann began her career at Parker Hannifin as a purchasing agent. She graduated from Stetson University’s School of Business Administration with a major in Marketing and a minor in Electronic Business Solutions. She is a member of GBTA Ladders and co-leads CSI’s charity committee and oversees corporate philanthropy for CSI’s Power2Change Foundation. In 2014, Juliann was honored among the top ’40 Under 40’ rising business stars in the region.



Richard Sheard

Global Travel Manager


As Global Travel Program Manager at Workday, Richard oversees the company’s travel program. Richard has successfully managed several programs specializing in procurement and supply management – strengths include travel spend and program analysis, negotiation and ongoing management.

Prior to Workday, Richard managed the Air and Hotel Program at Goldman Sachs. He graduated from Westminster College with a major in Finance and holds a MBA from Utah State University.



Makiko Barrett

Director, Global Travel

Oath Inc.

Makiko Barrett is currently the Director of Global Travel for Oath, based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Makiko’s career spans over 20 years managing corporate travel, having worked as a travel manager for various internet, semiconductor and pharmaceutical companies, with a background in travel operations.

Makiko has been very active in the business travel industry.  She is currently serving the Silicon Valley Business Travel Association as their Vice President.

Makiko holds a B.A. in English from the Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan.  She is originally from Japan but was raised in Houston, TX and Yokohama, Japan. When she is not at work, she is at her son’s soccer games or busy rescuing cats for the local Humane Society.



Katie Loudon

Global Travel Manager

GoPro Inc.

Katie manages GoPro’s travel program spanning 12 countries – responsible for implementing new technology and initiatives and negotiating supplier contracts as well as managing supplier relationships.  Strengths include improving company culture, compliance and communication within the organizations she is a part of.  Katie has been on the Silicon Valley Business Travel Association’s board for the past three years currently serving as the Education Director – with a passion for continuing the education and professional development of the membership.

Prior to GoPro, Katie started her corporate buying career at SunEdison, Inc. responsible for globalizing their program in 25 countries and ensuring integration of a best in class program.  Katie graduated from San Diego State University with her bachelor’s in Hospitality and Tourism Management.  When she is not working or attending industry functions she is raising her first baby girl – born in January 2018.



Mark Hollyhead

Chief Operating Officer

Mark Hollyhead brings over 25 years of global experience in sales, marketing and operations across the travel and telecommunications industries.

Mark joined Egencia in 2010 as SVP for the Americas before being appointed to the role of Global COO in 2016. Before joining Egencia, Mark was with Vodafone as Head of Transformation and prior he spent 15 years at British Airways (BA) in a variety of leadership positions including Vice President of eCommerce and Customer Contact, and Head of Revenue Management for the long haul business worldwide. Mark completed his tenure at British Airways as the Head of London Heathrow Customer Operations where he was responsible for Terminals 1, 3, & 4. He was also the Chairman of the Terminal 5 change program tasked with designing the customer experience and the consolidation of all operations into one terminal.

Mark earned a M.B.A. in Strategy and Distribution from the City of London Business School and received post graduate honors in Economics at Birkbeck University of London.



Ethan Bernstein

Co-Founder and EO


Ethan is the CEO and co-founder of Freebird. Ethan is an experienced travel industry professional who is passionate about making travel better for consumers. Ethan worked in Corporate Development at Expedia Inc from 2010-2014, where he developed deep experience and relationships across the $1T global travel industry, leading commercial deals, high-profile strategic projects, and M&A totaling over $350M. Prior to that, Ethan graduated from Brown and worked in private equity, and then left the MBA program at Harvard in order to launch Freebird.



Maximilian Waldmann

Founder and CEO


After studying Business at the University of Bath and the Singapore Management University, Max worked for international companies such as KPMG and Kleinwort Benson. Upon spending a year in Afghanistan working with the Supreme Group, he decided to seek an opportunity in the digital space. Max joined a Venture Capital firm and later Rocket Internet, before he started to work on a Southeast Asian travel project for Google Singapore. Entrepreneurial by nature, Max founded his first employment service company in 2007. In 2014 he launched conichi, an award-winning travel tech company based in Berlin, where he currently works as the Chief Executive Officer.

Sandra Marie


Solutions & Strategy

Sandra Marie has recently created her own Consulting firm in Travel Management, and is the Principal at Solutions & Strategy, based in the Bay Area.  Her career spans over 15+ years managing corporate travel, hospitality and strategic meeting management, having worked on the TMC side with Maritz, BCD Travel and Carlson Wagonlit, and with various software, entertainment and pharmaceutical clients. Sandra has a passion for strategic travel management and has been active and engaged in the business travel industry.  Sandra was born and raised in France, lived abroad in France and the UK and has an extensive understanding of the global market.  She has experience in setting and supporting travel management solutions on a global scale, identify opportunities to improve tactical efficiency with a strategic vision.

She completed a GTP certification through GBTA and is currently serving on the Silicon Valley Business Travel Association board.



Jeroen van Velzen

Jeroen studied Information Management at the University of Amsterdam and has been active in the mobile industry since its inception in the previous century. Yes. He’s that old…

Roadmap is his third consecutive mobile venture, founded in 2015 and combines his passion for travel and mobile to deliver corporate traveler happiness.

Roadmap won the people’s choice and jury awards at BTN Innovate in September 2015 and was named “one of the hottest EU Start-ups” in 2016. Global buyers that partner with Roadmap to build a truly traveler centric program include Microsoft, Nike, KPMG, Pfizer and many others. 

Jeroen lives in Amsterdam is married and has three kids.


Stephanie Cloud

Director of Travel Industry Sales

As Director of Travel Industry Sales , Stephanie oversees online partnerships and strategy implementation for MGM Resorts. Stephanie currently identifies and evaluates new strategic business opportunities in support of the Transient Sales division.  Stephanie has also acted as an account manager for several third-party accounts, mostly focused in the OTA sector.  A key component of Stephanie’s experience has been performing industry and competitive analysis to highlight underlying category trends and competitive dynamics, and presenting these ideas & insight to executive leadership.

Stephanie earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Event Planning from The University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  She is also an avid CrossFit enthusiast.


Leslie Hadden

Leslie Hadden is the Global Travel Manager for LinkedIn Corporation.  She has been with the company for six years managing various programs in travel including meeting and events. LinkedIn’s goal is to make travelers happy and productive on the road while getting stuff done, having fun, and dreaming BIG
