Are you an easy target? Prepare to keep yourself safe in an active shooter and other crisis situations
It seems like every time you turn on the news lately there’s a narrative about an Active Shooter somewhere, or a terrorist attack abroad.  The reality is that the chances of being caught in a situation like this are remote, but who would stand next to a metal pole in a Lightning Storm?  Recent events indicate the necessity or preparedness.  This presentation by the Center for Personal Protection and Safety (CPPS) will provide you the information necessary to keep yourself safe, whether going about your daily routine, or while traveling abroad.

ROGER ALDRICH, SENIOR ADVISOR, TRAINING AND EDUCATION, CENTER FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION AND SAFETY

Roger Aldrich is a well-known expert in travel safety and crisis survival. He served for 33 years with the Department of Defense in the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) as an instructor, instructor trainer, curriculum developer, and director of the U.S. Government’s only specialized, foreign governmental detention and hostage survival program. Roger was responsible for the successful training of over 60,000 military and civilian personnel during his unique career. His last position was serving as the Dean of the Personnel Recovery Academy, JPRA’s premier venue for DoD’s highest risk personnel to learn to survive terrorist and peacetime foreign governmental detention.

Roger conducted debriefings and interviews of several individuals who returned from captivity, ranging from Vietnam POWs to the Navy EP-3 crew, held by the Peoples Republic of China. He also debriefed hostage victims, Gracia Burnham, held by the Abu Sayef in the Philippines, and Roy Hallums, held by terrorists in Iraq.

Roger created, developed, and managed specialized, tailored captivity survival programs for the highest risk operational personnel in the State Department, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, and other governmental agencies.
