From the broader part it plays in airline distribution to the potential for hotel programs and beyond, we provide an insight into the standard, its application, the latest developments globally and what this means to your travel program.  

This session includes “Myth Busters” where we highlight what NDC is and what it isn’t  as well as answering your questions from first principles to what this means for the future.

Lora has worked in the business travel consulting sector for more than 20 years. She has driven amazing results for her clients through hundreds of consulting projects involving outsourced travel buying & management, strategic sourcing, total program management and demand management. Previously Lora led the Business Planning team within American Express Global Consulting where she initiated key performance indicators for the business, developed a resource management strategy and revamped the consulting pipeline methodology and practices. Most recently Lora has led multiple engagement projects, helping suppliers to better understand the marketplace as well as helping buyers better understand their travelers while driving more strategic travel programs.

As one of her clients put it so succinctly on a recent LinkedIn commendation, “her work ethic and commercial acumen was clearly evident as was her unwavering drive to consider many creative ways to identify and deliver value”.

Lora is an industry expert with tenacity, loyalty, broad knowledge and a nose for sensing the reality of situations. She enjoys life in the tropics of Miami and loves to guide both her children to find their passions in life and her mentees to navigate the corporate world, challenging people to be their best.

Perry Michael Davis, Lufthansa Group
My professional experience expands over the last twenty-five years in the area of Business Development and alternative Distribution Solutions. I have an undergraduate degree in International Business, Foreign Languages, and an MBA in Technology Management. My graduate thesis was on “United’s Path to Economic Recovery” during the reorganization of 1999 suggesting that airlines become customer centric and less operationally driven. As a former Ethics Lecturer at Sonoma State University Graduate School, my business philosophy has always been based on the presumption of ethics where all individuals will do the right thing for the good of customers. I have interacted with a variety of audiences, personalities, and cultures in promoting teamwork by recognizing that individuals must work collectively and individually to achieve success.

My personal life has been committed to mentoring our youth as either a coach or as a volunteer. I am a firm believer that coaches serve as mentors and their impact on young adults is immeasurable. There is a time in everyone’s life where we begin to question our commitment to society. I have made a conscious decision to serve my community. I have lived a lifestyle of “volunteerism” and I am look to make differences in today’s youth by teaching them the importance of academics and athletics.

My current position at the Lufthansa Group is Manager Distribution Solutions, Americas, My primary responsibilities are to educate and drive alternative distribution solutions in this new era of distribution technology.

John Pittman, ARC

John Pittman is director of strategic accounts at the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), where he and
his team manage ARC’s relationship with key travel agencies and corporate travel departments. Before
coming to ARC, Pittman served as senior vice president at The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA),
where for 20 years he was responsible for regulatory/industry affairs, market research, marketing, and
consumer affairs. Pittman, who is fluent in German, holds a Bachelor of Arts in German and Political
Science from James Madison University and a Master of Business Administration from Wilmington College.


Ted Brooks, HRG

Ted Brooks is a travel industry veteran with over 30 years’ experience. His diverse travel background includes roles at Eastern Airlines, American Airlines and Sabre.  In 1994, Ted was hired by Sea Gate Travel Group and as the first Technology employee built an enterprise technology team that helped Sea Gate become one of the largest corporate TMCs in the US.  Following the acquisition of Sea Gate by HRG in 2006, Ted assumed the role of Executive Vice President – Technology for HRG North America.  During his tenure as the strategic technology leader for the North American travel operation, HRG has continued to enjoy continued growth and innovation within the North American marketplace.  Ted’s current role is Executive Vice President, Service Optimization.  In this role, Ted is responsible for the delivery and optimization of all travel technology and data services to customers and the TMC operations globally for HRG.  This ensures that HRG delivers a consistent and superior service through the ideal use of technology, data and process optimization to all customers across all points of contact.  Ted is based in Charlotte, NC and his interests include family, reading, motorcycles and travel.


Jonathan Messerer, American Airlines 

Since joining American in 2008, Jonathan’s career has taken him from Finance and IT to Global Sales.  In his current Distribution Strategy role, he and his team focus on the strategy, partnerships, and technology needed to deliver a world-class customer experience; they lead the way in promoting and implementing American’s NDC Connection with distribution partners worldwide.  Holding a Master of Pacific International Affairs from UC San Diego, in his free time Jonathan enjoys studying languages, downhill skiing, and playing the piano.
